Reading right to left, the first letter is a "k" sound, followed by the "r". The stand-alone line is "a" and the last one, that looks like the letter c with a roof on it and a dot is like a french "g".
It is a very economical script. Not what I had thought at all. I had always presumed that anything remotely arabic in script to be long-winded. My problem, I realise.
Everybody's looking for something. Mary Ann is looking for the real Beirut, whatever that means. These are the photos she takes along the way.
