Usually when I take pictures it's my dumb luck that the light is exactly wrong. But this time, the light was exactly right.
I'm not wild about the composition of this shot, but with light like that I couldn't resist.

Perfect lighting to enlighten your photo! Great! I thought of you when I read about the terrible jet crash which left out of Beirut yesterday! Sad news for those families!
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I like overall about the last eight or so photos you have posted is the fact that
ReplyDeleteI believe they convey emotion. Maybe its because I know (as most of us do) a little history behind the place. Or maybe the combination of color and the destruction of the form. Im not sure I can pinpoint it.
Good work.
Those trying to explain pictures are as a rule completely mistaken. (Pablo Picasso)
Today was an official day of mourning, and all the kids (mine included) were sent home early from school. The crash really is a tragedy.
ReplyDeletePauly, my favorite Picasso quote:
Museums are just a lot of lies, and the people who make art their business are mostly imposters.
love it. feels like a maxfield parrish background. but everything reminds me of him.
ReplyDeleteYes exactly! In art history classes they call it 'atmospheric perspective'--the method of making something look distant by putting that bluish haze on it.
ReplyDeleteI can see the effect of the blue haze, but haven't you also made it look distant by have the buildings on either side, one a little closer than the other, the other a little higher than the one? Doesn't this create the perspective in the first place which the blue haze and the capturing of light on the edges of trees etc just emphasises.
ReplyDeleteWhat crash? I will look that up.
