Golly that is a decent dose of wood-rot in the door. And look at that plant on the window-sill. It is out of sight (out of mind) yet still seems to be chugging along.
Yes, part of what I found unexpected is that people still live here. Normally this kind of wear goes along with abandonment. Not that the house should be vacant--it's quite livable and I'm glad for the signs of life all around it. But from this direction, all that can be seen is that little green plant.
